Iron-On Transfers * Big Brother is Watching!

Today I've been experimenting with Iron-On Transfers.
They are pretty easy to work with, but there are a few things you have to keep in mind.

  1. Print your image out reversed...My first run wasn't correct. Luckily I caught it before I ironed it on.
  2. There are many different kinds of transfer paper. I got a cheapy pack for ink jets. It works, but I'm sure there are better out there. Also, some are for light color fabrics and some are for dark colors...keep that in mind!
  3. It gets hot so watch your fingers!

But I think the results are pretty awesome! This set is for my boys...the big and little brothers. But the possibilities are endless. I've been thinking of a bunch more ways to use Iron-On transfers and will share when I get to them.

Let me know if you've tried this and what has worked for you.

fhe in a jar

Do you find it hard to hold Family Home Evening every week? Do you have trouble coming up with lesson ideas? If you are like me, you don't really need a full lesson, its just the two of you (and maybe a small child, or older kids who are sick of playing silly games) and you just want to get in and out without too much trouble. Here's your solution! FHE in a Jar!

Simply pull out a suggestion slip and do what it says. Each strip includes a song, a scripture and discussion points. Easy!

This .pdf file includes all the pieces you need to put together this jar - just print and glue! It includes strips of cardstock with suggestions for FHE. This would be great for newlyweds or older couples with either older kids or empty nests.

I've also included all the instructions and suggestions to make this super easy. You can buy the the digital file at my etsy shop.

Knitting Needle Wrap Up

I am now obsessed with knitting.
How did I ever watch TV without it? I now feel like a lazy bum if I'm not knitting while I watch...like I'm wasting my time and not doing anything.

Anyway, If you're like I was, your knitting needles are a mess. Piled high in the bottom of some basket and you have to dig through it to find what you're looking for. You may also be like me and buy an extra set of some needles because you didn't know you already had them! (come on, am I the only one?)
So, something had to be done. Based on the super popular crayon rolls (or colored pencil rolls) I decided to make myslef Knitting Needle Wrap-Up. Don't worry, I didn't buy anything for this!
The best part is it rolls up into a neat wrap and is easy to store and access.
You can use scraps from your stash or just a few fat quarters and some ribbon...how easy. Also, this is a fast project, I'd say about one nap time.

I wrote up some instructions and have them up in my Etsy shop. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
